Printable Guitar Lessons

Guitar lessons are readily available on the World Wide Web, an incredible resource for beginner, intermediate and, even, advanced guitarists that didn’t have easy access to the same material all but 10-15 years prior.

Guitar lessons are available in a number of different formats, including DVD/CD packages as well as online video lessons found on websites that provide an abundance of lessons for a monthly/yearly subscription. Furthermore, song lessons are offered in the format of guitar tablature (or guitar tabs) as well as standard music notation.

With all this information on the Internet, guitar players of all ages and skill levels truly have no excuse not to strive to learn new material. All you need is a computer, access to the Web, and hopefully a good space to get alone (or with other musicians) and crank out some new jams.

Why search for guitar lessons online?

If you wanted to learn to play guitar twenty years ago, the options for doing so were limited. You could always be one of the fortunate few that demonstrated enough discipline and patience to become a self-taught guitarist, but the likelihood of that happening were few and far between.

You could take up private lessons with an instructor, but the lessons were (and still are) expensive as well as dependent on when and where the instructor was available.

Lastly, a few resources may have been available in book format, but the information inside might have been dry and/or irrelevant to your stage in learning guitar. What happens when you need intermediate guitar lessons, but all that is available are basic guides designed for absolute beginners?

Online guitar lessons are the complete answer. You would be hard pressed to find information on something, anything that does not exist on the Web and the guitar is no different. You can find guitar lessons or tips with a simple search in Google. Guitar lessons are everywhere, some of them free while others require a one-time or recurring membership. Guitar lessons are easily divided by skill level or genre, a refreshing way to learning guitar.

Printable Guitar Lessons

The Internet is so accessible these days that it is difficult to imagine life without it, yet you shouldn’t always lean on it for a reference. For example, say you are going to band practice. Are you going to bring your laptop/tablet computer with you and access all your guitar references that way or are you just going to print the pages you need?

When you prepare for a gig, the old saying goes that “anything and everything can go wrong”. That is why seasoned guitarists (who have learned the hard way) always advise bringing extra of everything to a gig. The same golden rule applies to printable guitar lessons too. Don’t always lean on having access to a computer.

Printable guitar lessons enable you to search for lessons now, print for later, and then easily utilize during your practice sessions. Instead of wasting time going back and forth between websites to cross-reference or switch between lessons, printable guitar lessons give you the chance to store resources in one convenient to use location.

Then, instead of revisiting the same site over and over again for the same material, simply print and always have it on hand.

What information should you print?

It’s a good idea to print a few guitar guides such as a chord chart and scale chart. That way you’ll have a quick reference to commonly used chords and scales. Guitar tabs are often available for print, and will be easy to reference especially if you can place them on a music stand.

Reading sheet music is much easier to do on actual paper than it is on a screen. Instead of needing a hand to scroll up and down the webpage, put your hands (and energy) where it should go – on the guitar.

Even print out a few quotes or pictures that give you inspiration!
